The people in question take the chance to skedaddle the moment his ominous death skull isn't turned their way. They shoot the Mirrorbound a mix of anxious, annoyed, fearful, and thoughtful expressions as they go, blending swiftly into the crowd.
For his part, Papyrus hasn't sought her out too much either. It feels like she's been grappling with big, embarrassing feelings she's not ready to deal with, and he definitely doesn't have any idea what that might be like.
He can imagine all too well his brother prodding at him with questions, and that would be obnoxious enough. But with Chandra... Even if neither of them asks, hanging out is sometimes like an extended walk through that leaf tunnel, with everyone intently trying not looking at the images and feelings that come over the bond. He doesn't have any regrets about bonding with his friend partly because he's sure neither of them wants to hurt each other - and both want opportunities for privacy. Maybe a little of his restless energy is from going too long without much interaction with his bond, but he's fine.
"But some people respond very well," he continues, after a glance back at their retreating footsteps. He shrugs, dismissing the moment. "It's worth giving it a shot!"
