[Open] How I long for the autumn
Who: Newt(
newtralize) and you!
When: Throughout the month
Where: Various locations
What: General catch-all/Quests prompts galore
Warnings: N/A (Update if necessary)
I. The Barracks
[The barracks have seen a lot more life as of late. With the arrival of the refugees from Dorchacht and Newt feeling obligated to assist them while they acclimate to life in Aefenglom; there has been plenty of faces coming in and out from his space.
It's also the events of Dorchacht that convinces Newt to finish at least getting the basics up of getting his little business up. Somewhere that perhaps Mirrorbound may feel more comfortable coming to if they don't want to rely on the kindness of the Aefenglom natives, but also somewhere to help Monsters.
Newt can be found often coming in and out. It's a little startling how many people seem to come out of the space. How are they all fitting in there?]
II. Rux & Ruby
[There's an upside to having as many creatures as Newt does. While he wouldn't say he has a beast that fits every situation; he definitely has someone who does well for being a playmate for the young turnskins.
Newt has also done plenty of playing that he could do it himself, but he can kill two birds with one stone.
The magizoologist is sitting in the grass as he watches the two turnskin play with the large zouwu of Newt's. They laugh and playfully nip and bite at the larger creature. Greg growls, but her growls are far from threatening. If she had felt legitimately threatened, Greg would also send off sparks.
Newt laughs a little as she lays on her side and the two turnskin try and climb on top of her.] They look like they're enjoying themsel-oh no. [Newt lets out a yelp as the two turnskins had jumped off the zouwu and move to tackle the witch.]
III.Garden Troubles
[Newt never cared for being paid. He had always been happy to help even if there wasn't much in terms of compensation. Money was only an added bonus to help him cover supplies and food, but wasn't necessarily necessary for him.
Though, he's sure Pickett will enjoy the jams and preserves.
Newt arrives dressed down in just his slacks, dress shirt, and suspenders. He expected to get dirty and do some digging, so it seemed silly to overdress.
He always comes prepared though. Shovels and hoes and large woven baskets. The baskets, he hoped, would work to entrap whatever was causing the problems. Something to safely transport the beasts to somewhere else. Possibly the Petagorium or locating them somewhere else that isn't someone's crops.] Let's get to it, shall we?
IV. Habitat for Refugees
A.
[Newt is very willing to assist the refugees and his place was ill suited for very long term stay. He had environments set up to hopefully accommodate the different kinds of Monsters, but it wasn't exactly a home. And if the refugees were to feel more comfortable, they would want a home to call their own.
The magizoologist could easily be found helping fixing up the old houses. Patching up walls or windows or replace loose or rotting floorboards. If he isn't fixing them, he's cleaning them. Mopping or sweeping the floor to cleaning the windows. Whatever to get the homes up and running to be livable again.] Could you hand me that hammer?
B.
[If he's not actually fixing homes up, he can be found surrounded by plenty of the refugees. Children and the less able Monsters are circled around the Brit has he happily talks to them. It seems that he's currently telling them stories. The children look at him with excited awe as he continues his tale. The more weary refugees who are still heavily recovering have a distant look in their eyes, but they seemed to be attentive. Some recognition in their unfocused eyes.]
V. Nameless Bird Play
[Newt is already there and chatting with some of the farmers before your character arrives. It seems like he wants to know as much as possible before getting into the thick of it.
Newt gives a polite bow before turning to you.] From what I've gathered, they're not really quite sure why he's being quite a nuisance. It seems he's using the hay to nest in and doing things like stealing their food and disrupting them while they work.
[He taps his chin thoughtfully.] We can try talking to him, but we'll have to get him to relocate either way. It's not safe to stay out here on his own as he is.
VI. Light Between the Trees
A.
[The mysterious lights pique Newt's curiosity, so he easily agrees to observing and trying to figure out the phenomenon around them.
He packs a plethora of things into his case so he's prepared to be there during the day and stay through the evening if necessary. He's settled in some brush and has a quill out as he writes his notes into a worn looking notebook.
Newt frowns a little bit before glancing up to stare at one of the curious flames.] It's not magic. [It's said as a fact and that there was no room for doubt.]
B.
[It's really no surprise that the elk really gets Newt's attention. Of course the beast loving magizoologist would be curious about the large creature.
He ends up making multiple trips to observe the lights, but also the elk. Studying the beast and even offering it food sometimes. Eventually, he picks up that the way it moves doesn't seem completely natural and notices the infection on its hoof.
It's this current instance that Newt does away and heals the infection; a soft smile as he takes a step or two back.] There you go. That's much better, isn't it?
VII. Wildcard
[I'm happy to write out personal starters for anyone! Feel free to hit me up on plurk or the plotting post!]
