Remaining within that city is allegedly the safest method as to delaying change. But of course, the full moon would also increase the rate of transformation.
I would suspect asking a Coven Witch as to specifically delaying changes may prove worthwhile - hardly a solution, unless that's being kept from us, but magic seems versatile enough here that they could, perhaps, offer temporary alleviation.
