[open] pre-gaming, the dignitary variety
Who: Anyone invested in the Dorchacht Dilemma or planning to visit Dorchacht through the event.
When: Septeril 1st, late evening
Where: The Sly Seadog
What: Planning
Warnings: Who the eff knows
[ It was getting late in the evening, but it was crucial to meet up. Daenerys – with the help of some more technologically savvy people – offered invitations to anyone who seemed interested in the affair with Dorchacht.
They meet at the Sly Seadog: a run-down little dive of a tavern, found along a narrow back-alley in the harbour, frequented by sailors, welcoming to Monsters and humans alike. The crowd is dense for this early in the "night", but still a few drunkards pawning off their last bit of money for a little bit more booze.
It was not up to a standard she would prefer, but it's something and it's relatively quiet. Three long tables can fit enough people for their meeting – and there's some standing room at the bar. Time to get down to business, right?
Feel free to top level, make points, argue, etc. ]

unlike Dany, he does not stand to ensure attention is placed on him. he simply gulps down a liberal portion of his ale before moving to wipe it out of his beard with the back of his wrist. ]
While I share my Queen's sentiments regarding the importance of preventing a preemptive attack from Dorchacht, I do not believe we should be the first to draw our swords. We need a more subtle approach. There are far too many unanswered questions, and we cannot assume the answers we do have are true simply because of a dream.
[ perhaps Jorah is still equating his lack of knowledge to being relatively new, but he can't hope to imagine there are many in Aefenglom with the full story. ]
I have no reason to doubt our own Coven over that of Dorchacht's, but I am uncomfortable with blindly assuming they have told us everything they know. Sending any one of us with them under the guise of diplomacy is dangerous.
[ and the idea of Daenerys volunteering herself without seeking Jorah's advice yields... thoughts, but he keeps those to himself if only because he knows they would fall on empty ears. ]
They talked of an alternative means of getting there. One that is more... volatile, but perhaps unexpected. Does anyone know more of what they meant by "teleportation"? If it works to ensure a small group of us can enter unannounced, maybe we can obtain the answers we week before we make any rash decisions.
[ there is much for them to find out themselves. if the rebellion exists in the real Dorchacht, if the witches that have died truly died, any signs of an army preparing for an inevitable war. it's dangerous work, but Jorah believes it's more practical and assumed than that of blindly sailing to the enemy in hopes of peacemaking. ]

[ if neutral grounds even exists here. he's still learning about the surrounding areas, but he gathers from how uninhabitable land is outside the walls that safe, unclaimed territory is rare. ]
We are sending our friends into the lion's den. Anyone that goes must act quick and be confident they will not present a risk to our dignitaries. I wish I could say I am in a place to screen individuals, but I am far too new to these lands to have such a role.

[ which is more believable to him than science, based on his concept of magic from his world and this. ]
I worry that they shelved the idea because it is unsafe. The last thing I want is to see a group of fools sent to their deaths before they even make it to Dorchacht.
[ better yet be a part of said group. ]

[ not that he has any idea on if that's true or not. their leaders seem... chipper enough. whether or not that's all a front is yet to be seen. he has witnessed many two-faced leaders in his time. ]
Does anyone come to mind? Someone approachable. Trustworthy.

[ Well. Time to bug Elliot to...look into something he's probably decided to look into already. ]

[Aziraphale says, visibly glad someone else shares his opinions on the matter. It's not that he mistrust his Coven, everyone has been nothing but helpful since he got here. But those experiences, what he saw, what they are being told...
He's seen enough wars to know where this is heading.]
I have heard of teleportation, but I am unsure how it would work when it comes to magic means. I just got here rather recently, I have much to learn. I think... I think we should gather as much information as we're able to, first.

It does seem like a rather risky means of transportation. The trouble is how limited our alternatives are. We cannot join our friends via boat, lest they know who we are. Unattended docks or coastlines are unlikely if they are even remotely concerned of a military response.
[ this is when Jorah, the fool that he is, would volunteer himself to test the teleporter first. but he too just arrived here, and he isn't about to leave Daenerys without her Queensguard because he decided to be reckless. ]
Surely we have mirrorbound that may know more about this than we do. We need to obtain their expertise.

[He purses his lips- he's seen war before, enough times to see the signs as they gather, enough to know they need to be extremely careful the following weeks if they don't want this to escalate.]
We could test the teleporter first, I suppose. I wouldn't mind doing so. But I'm not sure if that would make it run out of energy, if it's as old and unreliable as we've been told. And we don't know this world enough to come up with other ways to get there safely.
