Peridot's overall demeanor has been trending on the grumpy side ever since it became abundantly clear that they're all going to be stuck here for a lot longer than she was hoping. A new house with less cramped living quarters sadly does very little to help her mood when what she's really longing for is her own sea-side barn back in Beach City.
I) The local youths aren't doing much to help her feel welcome, either. Being small, easy to fluster and very visibly non-human makes Peridot an almost comically easy target for bullying, and just over the first few days she finds herself on the receiving end of a disproportionately large number of their pranks and insults. They keep on throwing things at her, or they cast a spells that conjure never-ending rain clouds that hover over her head and follow her wherever she goes. She could probably use someone in her corner, if you're feeling heroic.
II) There are other stressors that she's contending with as well. Peridot learned a while ago that humans don't particularly enjoy it when you swipe their stuff without asking, but man, some of that jewelry the friendlier neighbors are offering up? She just can't stop thinking about it. She wants it. She's not about to do any tricks like some kind of trained animal to earn it, either. No, she has a kind of sense of entitlement about these shiny trinkets that she has never had before, and frankly it was only a matter of time before she acted on it.
Now she's freaking out because her hands are red, and now everything she's touching is getting smeared with the same crimson hue.
"Aaaaa--! No no no-- No, what is this!?!"
The sound is coming from just outside your front door. Yes hello, there's a small green gem on your brand new stoop panicking and trying to wipe her hands clean on your banister. Have fun with that.
III) Peridot doesn't have much need for the housing service since she's definitely living with Steven, but it's interesting to mingle with the other newcomers, and it's not like she has anything better to do. Plus, there's free candy! She has never been such a big fan of food, but. Candy is pretty great. She pops a chocolate in her mouth, chewing idly while she glances around the room.
That's when a pang of aching loneliness hits her. Something about looking around this room, at all these strangers... She just can't stand to be alone for another minute. The next person to walk by is getting a little green shadow.
