No, not here either...

[There is an array of different books across the table where Ignis is studying. It appears he started out on books about local cuisine but is now looking through a history tome, and how he bridged between the two is anybody's guess. There are a couple of volumes on the Cwyld, the first Fae and one on Dryads, as well as a few on magic - even the kinds that as a naga he has absolutely no ability to use.

The full moon has had its full effects on him now, and though he's wearing a shirt his lower half is mostly bare. No legs now, only a white-scaled tail easily three times the length of his body, coiled under him to serve as a kind of seat. Now and then, if he becomes irritated with what he's reading - either through his own lack of ability to understand it or the simple fact that it makes no sense - the tip of his tail rattles in annoyance.]

No, and not here... how is there nothing?

[Naga are rarely looked upon in a trusting way by the local population, Ignis had found. He doesn't entirely blame them. The appetites and instincts of the creatures are ones that any intelligent person ought to be wary of. Still, it doesn't keep him from visiting the market street on days when particular vendors are there, and he's been known enough to them since before his transformations began to show in earnest that they at least trust him enough not to refuse service.

Some of them even have a chat as he looks over their produce - something which he always appreciates. It never hurts to maintain good relations with the locals, especially with the various events of late.]

Will you have more of these next week? [He asks, picking up a small fruit from one of the baskets. The vendor considers, then nods, and Ignis begins placing some of them into a small bag. Lately, he's found himself wanting to cook more often. Something that had only been a hobby is more and more a source of familiar comfort.

He shifts back from the stall and feels himself bump lightly into someone walking behind him.]

Ah-- apologies.

[There is a lot of snake tail back there that he's still getting used to working around.]

Boaltinn Through the Storm

[Ignis is here, and cooking, because of course he is. Some people might know him by sight alone simply because he has a tendency to pop up in so many eateries, lending his various cooking talents to their kitchens. It seems to suit him better than a full time, permanent job in any case, and definitely allows him far more creative freedom.

The shop he's taken up in today has given him a portion of their display case to use. There are a couple of cakes, some cupcakes, small, firm sugar cookie bars and cookies, all decorated and coloured for the celebration. There is a certain artistry in it, he'd have to admit (if pressed), and he's enjoying himself.

If he catches your eye as you peer into the display, he smiles and gestures down to everything (not just his own).]

Can I get something for you?

A Whole New Wilde

[One might think anyone who had been involved in the Underground excursion might be a little shy of possibly being infected with the Cwyld again, but Ignis is no such person and joins one of the groups heading out towards the areas where the infection seems to be dying back. It's hard to believe that what they had done could have had such a marked effect and he isn't letting his guard down yet, but it's... good to see.

With a long length of snake-tail instead of legs Ignis' fighting style has had to shift somewhat, but he's still confident enough to go out hunting for the nests. Alone if he has to.

It's deep inside a darker section of forest that he stops, his forked tongue quickly tasting the air, and he extends an arm to halt the person alongside him.]

Wait. Stop. [He shifts himself forwards half a foot, sliding over stones and dead branches.] Cwyldtid. There are some close by. Are you ready?

[benedicus]

( sometimes things happen by chance. not very often, mind you, but sometimes. aziraphale had been sifting through the aisles of books in search of something in particular when he comes across ignis.

which is fortunate. he did want another chance for the two of them to simply chat.

he approaches him from the side, glancing over at the book in his hands. )

Do pardon me, but might I inquire as to what you're looking for?

[claritatis]

[He looks up quickly, deep enough in his investigations into the latest book that Aziraphale's appearance beside him makes him visibly flinch.]

Oh-- [And he gathers himself quickly, shaking his head and tapping the page in front of him.] Mister Fell. I was...

[The array of books around him no doubt indicates he came in here looking for something else, but the level to which he has diverted off his intended course is startling even to him.]

I was looking at native cuisine, initially. [Those books have been left aside for a while.] But I always seem to end up searching for information of the history of the Cwyld infection when I stay here for too long.

[benedicus]

Is that so?

( gently asked as aziraphale glances over some the books, nosily trying to judge what all this young man has been spending his time reading. he will admit, however, that is a rather interesting topic that he's centred his mind on.

but there must be something he wishes to know about it that he hasn't found yet.

he smiles. )

I suppose that raises the question as to why your attentions always return to the Cwyld infection. Is there something in particular that interests you about it?

[claritatis]

Mm... a few things.

[He taps his sharp fingernails very lightly against the table for a moment, and shifts the long length of snake-tail beneath his torso to make a more comfortable seat.]

There is a disease in my world. A plague that has ravaged the planet since the very distant past. We call it the Starscourge. This Cwyld behaves in a similar way to it.

[Perhaps it's easy to see, in that case, why Ignis finds it to be such a fascinating topic.]

And the lack of knowledge around its origins is similar as well.
