This is also not how he anticipated seeing Yennefer again. He just wants to go inside and let this play out how it will. His dislike of Ardbert is simply that: a man he'd rather not deal with at any point, because it's a waste of his time. He has little room in his life for relationships of no value. But he's not concerned about whether Yen can handle him or not. She can handle just about anyone.

The door locks behind him as he follows up the rear. Jaskier isn't here, nor Ciri, which is for the best.

"Not too comfortable."

It's clear Geralt has no intention of joining them for their chat; he's already moving towards the winding stairs that lead to the upper landing. He'll talk to Yennefer after. If either of them are in the mood for that, in any case.

He plans on eavesdropping, though. Not that it takes much for him to overhear a conversation.

If Yen could roll her eyes harder at Geralt's distinct efforts to make the other man feel like an imposition, she'd likely fall over. Geralt in a mood is often already enough to deal with most days, doubly so when she was the cause. This particular hurt had been festering and left unmanaged for longer than either of them should have allowed. But, old habits die hard and she'd needed space. It didn't mean she was unhappy to see him well. Managing without her just fine. Good.

Without giving Geralt another thought as he goes up the stairs, aware he likely hasn't gone far, she brings a flame to life quickly in the kitchen, filling and placing the kettle quickly to start on the tea.

"It was part of the decision when choosing a home. While we don't require something quite so large for ourselves, the convenience of being able to keep a horse or two nearby and safe was a draw." Pulling out a few assorted bags of loose tea, she sets them out as attention fully shifts to him for a moment. "Do you prefer a black tea, something herbal, or perhaps a more flowery aroma?"

She barely bites back a comment about living arrangements and why this move had really been more of a necessary one. Living with others wasn't her usual choice but this place didn't really account for what she wanted most days.

Slender fingers pause over her assorted collection, a corner of her lip curling up a bit as she hovers over a newer blend she'd picked up. "Then how about a bit of both." Once unboxed, the blend itself is beautiful - dried lilac petals and a few other flowers, hints of orange and bergamot oil, and black tea. The dried petals catch the light a bit as they tumble into the teapot, splashing a bit as they hit the water. Part of her wants to ask about his bonded, considering she'd made the move with hers without too much of a fuss, but her circumstances were... unique.

And she wasn't in the market to do the advertising for those who run this city for the residents to willingly upgrade. As she sets the teapot on the fire, she smiles - a little tight. But kind.

"Forgive my manners, Yennefer of Vengerberg." She gives a soft inclination of her head, slowly making the move to redirect the conversation to why he chose to arrive with a plate of cookies. Something her tone might give away to anyone who knows her intimately should Geralt still be so intent on eavesdropping.
