The door locks behind him as he follows up the rear. Jaskier isn't here, nor Ciri, which is for the best.
"Not too comfortable."
It's clear Geralt has no intention of joining them for their chat; he's already moving towards the winding stairs that lead to the upper landing. He'll talk to Yennefer after. If either of them are in the mood for that, in any case.
He plans on eavesdropping, though. Not that it takes much for him to overhear a conversation.
This Took So Long! ;o;/
Going with the flow of the conversation (and Geralt's general blockade) has led the Ascian into the home. Following further means journeying to the table with the barest moments to pause and look around. Which he does but only in the most casual seeming ways. As one might with mild curiosity for their surroundings.
"I will endeavor to make myself comfortable then. Though not overly so." Both so acknowledged, the man addressing himself as Ardbert settles into a chair at the table. The cookies are left approximately in the middle of the table. They will be decent cookies, the sort you would expect well-supervised children to make. And since they are a gift he naturally won't be touching them.
Unless they are offered with tea.
Elidibus's attention follows Geralt retreat to the stairs. He's not fooled into thinking the man won't stick around. Though he does have to consider whether there is some politeness involved in the fact the witcher is not breathing down his neck during this slightly extended visit. His attention shifts to the window wherein a view of the stables are presented.
"I envy you," he remarks in the form of small talk while Yen goes through the process of teamaking. "I too have a steed, though not the facilities to stable her where I live." It is a pity but can't be helped. Renting a stables service is the best he can do for now. Though it's probably for the best. Elidibus sometimes isn't sure when Lahabrea would be joking or not regarding the potential edibility of amaros.
no worries!
Without giving Geralt another thought as he goes up the stairs, aware he likely hasn't gone far, she brings a flame to life quickly in the kitchen, filling and placing the kettle quickly to start on the tea.
"It was part of the decision when choosing a home. While we don't require something quite so large for ourselves, the convenience of being able to keep a horse or two nearby and safe was a draw." Pulling out a few assorted bags of loose tea, she sets them out as attention fully shifts to him for a moment. "Do you prefer a black tea, something herbal, or perhaps a more flowery aroma?"

But the former's reception is at least polite and open for conversation, even if it begins with small talk. The man calling himself 'Ardbert' offers a brief nod on principle for the explanation about cottage life choices. "Had my Bonded not yet established himself, I would have preferred such quarters as these. Yet living with him has proven to be the better decision. And the public stables are sufficient for my needs."
Oddly he hesitates a moment when the decision of tea type is presented. Finally he offers, "I commonly drink black tea. Yet I would not be opposed to trying something new. If you have a suggestion I would be grateful."
Let it not be said that Elidibus did not take advantage of a situation to
try a new tea flavormake use of his host. The monster.no subject
Slender fingers pause over her assorted collection, a corner of her lip curling up a bit as she hovers over a newer blend she'd picked up. "Then how about a bit of both." Once unboxed, the blend itself is beautiful - dried lilac petals and a few other flowers, hints of orange and bergamot oil, and black tea. The dried petals catch the light a bit as they tumble into the teapot, splashing a bit as they hit the water. Part of her wants to ask about his bonded, considering she'd made the move with hers without too much of a fuss, but her circumstances were... unique.
And she wasn't in the market to do the advertising for those who run this city for the residents to willingly upgrade. As she sets the teapot on the fire, she smiles - a little tight. But kind.
"Forgive my manners, Yennefer of Vengerberg." She gives a soft inclination of her head, slowly making the move to redirect the conversation to why he chose to arrive with a plate of cookies. Something her tone might give away to anyone who knows her intimately should Geralt still be so intent on eavesdropping.
