The zouwu crouches low and definitely looks like it is waiting to pounce on its target. The target being this poor cat toy. At least he isn't looking to pounce on Cloud. After all, it's the toy that has the bells.]
He'll probably get bored in a moment when he realizes the toy isn't very entertaining without someone moving it. I'm hoping he'll settle down after.

No, not at all. Well. To be fair, I have no idea where he came from, but he's fond of me. I can't tell you why because I've never came across him before.
[Newt can only assume he comes upon it a bit later in his life, but that doesn't explain why it arrived with him. He's not going to really question it either, since it wouldn't be the first time that inexplicable things happen. Isn't that basically how magic is?] It'll be fine. Nothing to worry, really.
[The zouwu slinks over to the toy and starts to paw at it. Of course, it jingles and the zouwu just starts batting it across the floor.]
