Asra cursed for them both as Symon stumbled and he didn't think, just threw himself forward and planted his hand, palm flat and fingernails digging in, over the top of the fresh scratches left by Symon's claws. He hissed a command, a brief burst of light flaring behind his eyes as steam rose from his hand and the creature shrieked. The sound was ear-splittingly loud and high and Asra jerked away as it flailed and bit, it's jaws grabbing again for Symon and anything else it could reach.

As he pulled back, a spike of ice was barely visible where it buried into the twisted flesh, widening the wound and hopefully giving Symon an opening.
