Clever title here
Who: Elliot Craig and Yosuke Hanamura
When: Beginning of August
Where: Park
What: Picnic Serenade quest, music bros bein music bros
Warnings: None!
Yosuke was pretty nervous even if this was just a super tiny gig. He could use the extra cash (he always could use the extra cash) and it got him doing something he really loved. It was just... well, he knew how good Elliot was too. And the guy could play like a million instruments!
"So, you sure you want me to partner up with you on this? I'm sure there's plenty of other people who could play way better and stuff..."
The guitar he had was kind of old, he got it at a secondhand shop. It was a classical guitar so it was made for nylon strings, rather than the steel strings he was used to. But it hadn't taken very long to get used to the slightly wider neck and softer strings. It also made finger picking easier. He couldn't afford a brand new one and he had no idea how to make one. But it did the job well once he got it cleaned up and all new strings put on it. He had extra in his pocket just in case there was an accident but otherwise, he was confident it would play well even for a bunch of people in the park.
He would be lying if it wasn't just the thought of playing next to Elliot that made him nervous, but just being in front of people. He wasn't one to really get stage fright or anything and this wasn't like the concert back at Junes. But still... he wasn't entirely used to playing for anyone. It was just the two of them and the only other person who listened to him play was Yu who wasn't exactly as musically inclined as he was. Although, he supposed if that was the same for whoever their first clients were then it wouldn't really matter if his talent was up to par or not as long as he was decent. Still...
He turned the pegs and made sure the guitar was in tune. They were seated a bit of a ways away from the main picnic goers for now, their clients not having shown up yet. "I-I mean, not that I don't appreciate you asking me to join you! I just... y'know, worry."

Aha, yes I'm sure. [He smiles reassuringly at Yosuke]
Music's more fun if you play it with other people, and I'm sure you'll hold your own just fine.

[He still felt like it wasn't the same. But, he wasn't going to be a debbie downer. So, he adjusted the strap and got ready.]
Okay, so... any ideas on what you wanna play? I know some acoustic covers to the songs back home, I'm still sorta getting the hang of finger picking and stuff though so probably nothing that involves that right now.
[He could try! He just wasn't super confident in keeping it up unless the song was easy enough.]

[We're just two dudes having a good street performance! Sure there's some money involved, but this isn't a grand concert or anything.]
Hmmm...I wouldn't mind doing some of the acoustic covers of yours. I should probably be able to keep up if the melody's easy enough.

After thumbing through quite a few of them, he landed on a particular song and handed his headphones to Elliot.]
Something like this is what I was thinking. We don't need to sing it, I think, unless the clients as but I can do that since I already know the lyrics. Not sure if they'll like my voice but...
[Time will tell, he supposed. He didn't think he was a bad singer, just was never certain about being all that great or even pleasant to listen to. Never had anyone tell him and he wasn't sure Teddie or his parents counted.]

It's only when the song is over does he take off the headphones, handing them back to Yosuke with a smile]
Haha, good choice! And yeah, I think we can get away with not using lyrics since we're background ambiance. You can handle the guitar, while I use the violin to cover the melody the singer would've?
Though I'm sure your voice is just fine! If they want a singer, you can cover that.

The violin covering the melody would be really cool, actually! I think it'd totally work. So I guess we'll start with that and... hm... how many songs are we even supposed to do?
[This is was kind of uncharted territory and he didn't want to be caught empty handed like they had at the Junes concert. One song didn't seem like it was enough now that he thought about it.]

[Look Elliot is either an absolute perfectionist or he is super go-with-the-flow when it comes to playing. There is no inbetween]
Maybe we can get away with playing a few, and then take requests?
no subject
[He spent the next few minutes playing different songs for Elliot, both of them deciding which ones would be good to play for now.
However, they could only do much as it seemed their clients arrived. They matched the description they were given, anyway.]
Well, itβs now or never. Ready?
no subject
But ah yes, the clients are here. He offers them a smile and has a very professional but friendly manner when he speaks to them. There's no beating around the bush here, Elliot is definitely a professional performer. When the arrangements are all ready to go, he nods and smile at Yosuke]
Mm! Ready when you are!
