Rude made a noncommittal noise as his first response. The glaring act dropped a few seconds later and he relaxed visibly--a purposeful action that was less truthful and more for show of his forgiveness. He nodded in acknowledgement.

"It's fine," he said with an implied now in his tone somehow. He looked down at the kittens. "They're enjoying it." And that's what placated him to be perfectly honest. For anything else, he might not have let it go so easily.
