Rude's eyebrows rose at Reno's reply, but he couldn't help himself and ended up chuckling softly at his partner's words. Leave it to Reno to have confidence that he would get what he wanted even as a volunteer for someone else's needs. He shook his head but didn't shoot Reno's hopes down with logic. No sense in it.

His expression teetered and slowly resumed the stoic front he usually kept in place at Reno's next words. So he had... Rude hadn't meant anything by it but perhaps the usage of the word 'we' had been a mistake on his part. He looked down at the ground.

"...I meant that we would figure out how it works and how to utilize it best. Either one of us. Whoever tried it first." He said and then looked up but not at Reno, instead gazing out at the passing crowd. As he continued, he managed to very carefully maintain his neutral expression along with a calm, even tone of voice. "Though it might be easier to try it with someone familiar. Trustworthy."
