[He'd noted the curiousity from his bonded-- both in the moment, and after it. A subtle press, like a foreign inquiry nudging at his ribs from inside, seeking understanding with no way of retrieving it on its own. But really, his thoughts had been too damn full to even consider it.

Someone aggressively trying to take ownership of the event of his death and repeatedly apologizing and trying to excuse it as something that shouldn't have happened-- That's a lot harder to deal with. It's a huge upheaval of stranmge emotions that he hadn't been prepared for and never even wanted.
He's peripherally aware of her proximity, but really... is mostly just waiting for her to decide when to press it. He's not in the mood to seek out contact, or to do much of anything, after all. He'd suddenly been thrown someone else's problems, and now had to deal with it.
At least Fie is gentle with the way she approaches, holding out the shaved ice, rather than tossing it his way with a mention of 'catch!' or anything else. And so he'll pause, glancing at it for a moment.. and then sighing.]
