Though Vanitas had seen him immediately after being tortured; if it were detachable, surely it would've come off at some point during that whole... experience. Small mercies that it wasn't cut off anyway... useless as it was now, and far less sensitive in general than any normal eye, getting it sliced into had been bad enough. Emet-Selch somehow avoids wincing at the idea of it being snipped away in its entirety.
