[With his transformation nearly complete, and thanks to Ven's guidance and instruction on how to control his shifting ability, Roxas has managed to transform into a complete dog form. It's a very strange feeling, walking around on four legs instead of two, and the amount of scents in the air is nearly staggering. But Ven seems to handle it no problem, and so Roxas tries his hand at practicing his newly shifted form.]

[Throughout the month Roxas can be found either within the Keyblade House or around the neighbourhood of it, exploring both his new form and the surroundings around him from, quite literally, a new perspective. Feel free to say hi, or give him a pat, or even introduce him to the wonderful world of ear scratches. Just don't mind him if he's sticking his nose where id shouldn't; things smell really interesting in this form.]

[The full transformations is something that Thancred's been faintly aware of, if not entirely interested in. He watches Roxas in his shifted form for a few moments- not entirely certain, but reasonably sure he recognises theother- and then reaches out.]

Enjoying yourself there?

[It's another sweltering summer day where the heat is plastering down on everything in the city. Even Sora is starting to get a little sweaty and even thinks he should spend more days on the beach and in the water than at home. But right now Sora is in the back yard of their resident kingdom hearts house, basking in the sun like a happy rabbit while he chews on a few stray stems of clover.

He seems pretty lazy today, maybe a certain bondmate can fire his day up? His ears do perk up when he feels the stretched connection he has with Kor getting a little closer. Is he stopping by?!]

Kor?

[Being a beachside town kid himself, this kind of hot weather was ideal to Kor. even if it also left him longing for the ocean right now.

But even he agreed the current sweltering heat was a bit. Much. right now. So he's coming looking for his pal for some relief from the heat. Sora was a beach kid too, maybe he had some ideas!]

There's no sneaking up on you, huh?

[Not that he's surprised Sora could sense him coming. Kor was no stranger to bonds helping guide the way to one another. By now, the two of them should be very familiar with one another's presence.]

[Sora grins as he sits up straight from his spot. His ears wiggle and he lifts one hand to wave at his bondmate.]

There's not a single chance you could do that to me. I can sense your magic from a mile away.

[He grins warmly. since Sora has four witches bonded to him he is very good at sensing magical signatures. And all of his bondmates have very distinct ones.]

[Kor's taken aback by Sora's bold claim.]

Really? A whole mile?!

[That really shouldn't be impressive to you, Kor, do you even know how much a mile is? You've sensed your bondmates back home on the other side of the world.]

[Roxas can see how Ven says this form is so interesting. Fully shifted like this, he's able to pick up on so much. So many sounds! So many smells! His tail wags as he walks around, sniffing all the unique scents his human nose can't pick up.]

[Hearing his name, he perks up, ears raised, but then his tail wags harder as he realizes who it is.]

Thancred!

Maybe even farther than that! We should test it.

[Sora snickers playfully and then his ears give a little twitch.]

What're you up to today, Kor?

[Kor just heaves a weary sigh.]

I'm trying to beat the heat. It's not working too well.

[He's taken to wearing much lighter clothes than is typical for him, sporting a hooded vest and short pants, looking like he's ready for a day on the beach. But even with that, it's still too hot for him to handle.]

You do sort of look like you're gonna melt any second.

[Sora chuckles but honestly Sora seems pretty much fine in this heat. Growing up on a tropical island does help!]

You wanna go jump in the ocean or something? That always helps a bit.

[Despite his heat exhaustion, Kor seems to perk right up at the mention of taking a dip in the sea.]

Boy, do I ever!

[Could he have just gone on his own? Yes. Would that have been as much fun? Hell no.]

[Who goes to the beach and the ocean alone?? Sora hops up on his heels so quickly and makes a salute at Kor.]

What are we waiting for then? Let's go!

[He grabs Kor by the arm! Time to hit the beach! The streets of the city are fairly busy as usual. But the heat has a lot of people under hats and parasols or even trying to stay cool in the shade from trees and buildings... But the docks should be great. He's looking forward to that wonderful ocean breeze.]

Good to see you, Roxas.

[He grins, ears wiggling a little.]

I see you've made at least one new discovery. Is it very different from usual?

Good to see you too!

[He walks over to Thancred's side, giving him a very doggy grin.]

It is pretty weird like this. Like... everything smells so different! Did you know how how much the road smells?

[Kor follows along with Sora as they travel through the streets of the city, making their way to their water sanctuary. It was pretty evident that this heat wave was taking its toll on the people.]

Looks like we're not the only ones trying to beat the heat, huh?

[He grins back, charmed.]

Ah, I've always heard dogs had a better sense of smell…. I can't say I did, but I would have imagined so. Is it better? Worse?

Yeah, it's pretty bad out here for most people I guess.

[Sora is pretty warm. He has patches of fur and all that too. But he's just better at tolerating it.]

I don't really mind it all that much, though.

Sometimes it's worse. Like, a lot worse.

[One of his ears actually angles down as he thinks about some of the nasty smells he's smelled.]

But some smell more... I dunno. Interesting? Even things I would have thought would have smelled pretty bad just smell really... I dunno, like there's a lot going on in it. It's really weird... but also really cool.

Ah- I suppose that would make sense, though.

[He reaches out to scratch behind Roxas' ear- a sort-of apology, even if it's something that can't exactly be helped.]

As though it's hiding something, would you say? Has there been something to particularly catch our attention?

[Thancred might have found a hidden weakness thanks to that scratching, because the way Roxas leans into that scratching suggests Thancred's found a spot he likes being scratched. Even if it makes him have to focus on Thancred's words a bit harder.]

Huh? Oh, uh... yeah, sort of. I don't know how to describe it very well. But it just smells like... I guess like there's more layers under it than I can see?

And sometimes they smell... tasty.

[He keeps going, then, trying to smother a grin so as not to embarrass Roxas.]

So you'd want to investigate further, then. That explains a few things.

…are they things you should be eating, though? [He sounds a little stern, but it's out of concern.]

Really?

[Kor blinks widely in surprise at Sora. He didn't expect that from him.]

Even with all that extra fur now?

[Sora grins and reaches up to tug one of his furry ears.]

Yeah, even with all the fur! But jumping into the ocean is still the best feeling ever.

[He nudges Kor's shoulder with his.]

But how are things doing with you, Kor? Learning every spell there is? Have you blown up anything yet?

Haha, I won't argue with you there. [Kor grins at Sora. He's not wrong about that, there's something great about just jumping right in the ocean that just really makes him feel at peace.]

Yeah, I've been really getting the hang of it lately now that I've found a good teacher!

[They're coming up on the beach now and Sora grins as he looks over the sandy beach. The ocean isn't nearly as beautiful as the ones back home but there's something about the ocean that makes Sora happy and his heart calm too. It's like a little piece of home away from home.

When they reach the sand Sora goes ahead and kicks his shoes right off and shoves his feet into the sun-warmed sand.]

Cool! A teacher? Who's your teacher?

[Kor grins impishly. Sora's gonna flip when he hears this, Kor just knows it.]

It's Vanitas.

[He's gonna flip! He's flipping!]

Wha- What?! Vanitas?!

[Sora grabs Kor's shoulder and shakes him.]

Why didn't you guys say anything?! I bet he's going to whip you into shape so fast you won't know what hit you!

[He's kind of baffled and stoked at the same time.]

[Sora suddenly shaking him like that catches Kor off-guard.]

That's! What! I'm! Hoping! Foooor! [His words come out abruptly and with varying levels of volume as Sora shakes him.]

[Shake shake shake shake!!

Sora grins and finally stops his relentless onslaught.]

If he's kind of mean to you it's only because he wants you to get things right.

[The warning probably isn't really needed these days, but still.]

But he's great, I'm really happy to hear something like that!

[With Sora finally releasing Kor from his death grip, he reaches up and scratches the back of his head.]

I'm really counting on that happening. Him wanting me to get things right, that is. I need someone to push me and never stop pushing me.

[There's a brief pause, and then Kor looks at Sora.]

You really know him well, huh?

[Sora grins knowingly. Well if there is anyone that can push someone to do well it really is Vanitas. He's relentless in a lot of ways.

But Kor's last comment makes Sora tilt his head and he blushes a little.]

Erm, I hope so! We're dating.

[Surprise!!!]

Huh? [Boy, does he feel embarrassed now, both for not knowing this already, and for assuming otherwise. He always figured, with the way he and Sora bonded over having a special lady friend they'd go to the ends of the earth to protect that said special lady friend was also his love interest.]

[He does his best to try and shake off the embarrassment, his cheeks a slight pink as he scratches the back of his head.]

Wow, I had no idea... That's great, though!

[Sora laughs and shakes his head. There's nothing to be embarrassed about... And Sora still loves his ladyfriend very much! He just happens to love multiple people and things crumbled into place like they did.]

Ahah! Uh, sorry I didn't say something sooner! But don't worry, I'm super excited for you to be learning from him!

[Because in the end Vanitas really is a giant nerd. He's great at everything he's picked up here.]

[Now it's Kor's turn to laugh about it.]

Haha! Well, to be fair, I never really asked you about it, so it's my bad too!

That's fine!

[Sora doesn't really make it too much of a habit to talk about himself. So, it's really fine!]
