Deciding not to read too much into that 'forgiveness', Jin Guangyao removes his hand from Lan Xichen's shoulder, if inwardly a little reluctantly. He's being proper, within the odd set of changing boundaries that comprise life in this new city and Aefenglom mingled with old rules.

He rests his hand on his sword hilt for a moment, as if the idea of more violent threat crossed his mind -- when, oddly enough, there was nothing of the sort. Perhaps if the Bond didn't exist, if he was more suspicious still of Lan Xichen's behaviour and less confident in his affection, those feelings might be different. But for what he assumes to be only an approach on an unbonded witch, when there are these feelings between them, it really wasn't worth thinking about beyond the slightest bit of real disdain.

"Very well," he agrees after a moment, magnanimously. "An innocent mistake, perhaps. His eyes were blinded by the sight of something too precious. Walk by my side then, until your lord might find an appropriate means to mark you as his own." Lan Xichen was free to read that as he liked, Jin Guangyao figured.

There were places to paint one another, but Jin Guangyao really did have some thoughts of getting some small item or another for his Bonded regardless, and gold would go well with the bland tones Xichen had been wearing lately. For a moment, he wanders through the maze of small market stalls, considering. If Xichen actually has a preference, he'd find a way to tell him in this little game.

Or possibly surprise him, the way things had been going lately.
