The differences are somewhat subtle; they haven't totally reinvented sword-fighting or anything, but their fighting styles are adapted for close combat, primarily. Fighting in small spaces, tight quarters with both enemies and allies crowded around, etc. They put very little emphasis on ranged weapons and prefer blades. Spears are the best way for them to get a little distance in a fight, using the long pole to help push back the enemy.
Their styles are also pretty brutal and no-nonsense, and fighting dirty is not discouraged in 'real' situations, though it can be looked down on in exhibition style fights within the city.
