More common than the heat in the city, by a long shot.
[There's even something of a spring in his step as he walks through the snow, seeming to be able to pick his steps carefully enough that while he does sink into snow drifts - as anyone would - the ones he steps into aren't the sort that hold tight or threaten to steal his boots.
...Not that he'd worry too much about that, either. It's kind of hard for snow to steal thigh highs.
Anyway.]
Gautier is as far north as you can get in Faerghus, so even the summers are pretty cool. This kind of weather is something we'd see in ah... what do they call Wyvern Moon here... Octeuril? Maybe a month later, but only on warm years. And it only gets worse from there until spring.
[It isn't much of a stretch for him to see snow for half a year when he's home. The monastery was much more temperate, and the Empire was downright hot.
Like the city, right now, which was why - when he'd caught wind of it being winter out here - he'd jumped at the chance to head out. Going with Allura was a pleasant surprise.
But they can't enjoy the snow forever, so he sets to looking for any of the plants they'd been sent to find, as well, trying to see if anything seems almost out of place in the cold.
Nothing could go wrong, right? They'll have a lovely day, maybe find a sample or two, head back late enough that the heat will have had a chance to lessen...
Was that a giggle from that snowdrift over there? Couldn't be...]
[She remembers the world from his memories. Even if it was only a snapshot, she imagined that life of sleeping in tents and sending letters on horseback, but in a world where the weather was inhospitable. Humans really are a resilient species, no matter what world they come from.]
Altea's isn’t nearly so dramatic. I don't think I've seen snow like this beyond the mountains. [Even if it was, most of the population lived in the rings surrounding the planet or in climate controlled structures. Honestly, this is the longest she's spent with her feet on a planet in a long time.] It's hard to believe this is the same planet- ah!
[It's about the same time that Sylvain hears the giggle that the wind suddenly picks up. Whipping snow into a flurry, what was a beautiful day suddenly becomes so white that she can hardly see her partner where he'd been just a few steps away.] Sylvain?!
[And just as suddenly it stops, and when it clears, the snow around them is at least a foot taller than before.]
Is... this typical? [Don't mind another giggle ringing out, not too far away.]
