one: talk travels. (OPEN)

[ honestly, yang doesn't find this job exceptionally difficult because she has a lot of upper body strength and she's proficient in the art of bike riding. the stylish jacket is a real nice perk, too, and it's taken the place of the one she usually wears. all in all, picking this job up wasn't a bad decision at all.

the hardest part of the job, however, is figuring out where everything is. she's not in a huge hurry because exploring seems pretty fun, but this package in particular was labelled "urgent" and needs to be delivered as soon as possible.

yang seizes the first opportunity she has to flag someone down. ]

Hey, excuse me? Can you tell me which way this is?

[ she points to the address on the package. looks like it's for a bakery that's within walking distance...! ]

two: pile's petagorium. (OPEN)

[ listen, yang's good with animals. she's very fond of them, actually -- she has a dog back at home, after all! but what she's not used to is handling are dragonflies. dragonflies that spit out acidic fire, at that.

and this one in particular doesn't seem to like her. ]

Don't even think about it!

[ she's being backed into a corner, literally, by this dragonfly that's slowly approaching her. its wings buzz aggressively at her, and yang's holding a hand out defensively, trying to ward it off. what on earth happened here...? ]

three: the disappearance. (OPEN, around 6/9.)

[ yang is leaning against a wall outside of the haven. she has her arms crossed and one foot up against the wall. she doesn't look like her usual self -- she's void of any energy, any enthusiasm. she looks troubled, big time.

she lets out a quiet sigh and mumbles under her breath: ]

I just hope you're safe.

[ > see what's up? ]

CLOSED to suga: moving in.

[ the afternoon after blake disappears, yang has to fight the urge to isolate herself. she's been there before. she's cut people out and it wasn't good for her. she knows blake wouldn't want that for her, either.

she seeks out a new roommate and checks out the roommate finding service in the haven. she stands in front of it and listens to each request carefully.

the one that stands out to her the most is koushi sugawara's. he sounds like the perfect roommate -- chill, clean, and likes spicy food. that's more than enough for her.

yang eventually reaches out to him, and soon, she's already preparing for him to move in. she's sitting on a couch near the door, waiting for his arrival. ]

[Connor works here, and is slowly getting used to the more aggressive dragonflies. And while he doesn't want to get spat on, he's at least going to try to help Yang. So he stands in between her and the dragonfly, giving it a stern look (which is it completely disregarding, because it is a dragonfly and does not care).]

Shoo. Shoo!

[He waves his arms towards it, and it seems to back up some.]

Stop being a bully. Go away!

[With Connor now advancing towards it, it seems to reconsider before flying off. Connor turns to face Yang, giving her an apologetic smile.]

I'm sorry, that shouldn't have happened. We'll keep an eye on that one. Are you okay?

[vytal]

[ oh, thank goodness one of the workers stepped in. she's also here part-time, but has yet to get adjusted to some of the more...exotic creatures around here. especially when they're aggressive. all she did was look at it, she swears!! ]

Yeah. Yeah, I'm fine. Thanks, sorry about that.

[ she breathes a sigh of relief. ]

I swear I didn't do anything! It's like it got mad because I looked at it.

[Elliot's gotten used to Yang from classes. he liked her, she was always full of energy and encouraging. So...it's pretty noticeable when she's behaving differently.

He approaches, concerned]

Yang? Everything okay?

Moving in

[Suga placed an ad to be a roommate once he saw the board. He didn't mind staying alone, but he figured it would be better to have someone to stay with in this new place. When someone answered his ad, he was glad he didn't have to wait long for a response. He grabbed his gym bag that had the stuff from home and walked over to his new home.

Suga walked up to the front door and knocked on it.]

Hello! I'm here! Is anyone home?

[vytal]

...Hey.

[ she looks up at him with a tired smile. ]

Yeah. I'm...fine. [ she looks away. there's a short period of silence, then: ] Can I ask you something?

[vytal]

[ she hears him call out, and yang doesn't take very long to answer the door. she opens it slowly and looks at him. sure, suga won't ever replace blake -- but he doesn't have to. she's willing to give him and his company a shot.

she smiles. ]

Hey...! Koushi Sugawara, right?

[fiddlestick]

[You do not seem fine, he thinks to himself.]

Of course. What's up?

[vytal]

It's about the people who disappear from this place.

[ you know, the ones who came through the mirror. ]

Do you think they're sent back home?

[fiddlestick]

Well ... I like to think so. There's no evidence saying otherwise.

Did someone you know disappear?

[vytal]

[ she nods. ]

...Yeah. Someone from Remnant. She's my friend.

[ ...more than that, but that'll do for now. ] I just hope she's okay.

[plasticasshole]

That one does seem to be angry all the time. I was actually wondering if adopting it might make it feel less inclined to act so aggressively. It's probably showing off a little because it feels threatened by the others.

[He read the care books.]

I don't think it would have outright attacked you, if that helps.

I hope she is too...

But...if she's tough like you are, I bet she is.

Oh, um. Let's see...

[Monika has been spending a lot of time just keeping busy with anything she could do. It benefited her in multiple ways, really. Her main activity lately was just becoming as familiar as possible with the city layout and important landmarks.

So when Yang approached her looking for directions, Monika felt glad that she actually had a good idea of what she was looking for.]

You're not too far from it, actually. We should be able to get there on foot.

[vytal]

You sure about that? Because that thing looked like it was ready to incinerate me.

[ yang, please. ]

... But I guess I can see why it'd feel that way. Is there any way to make it stop being like that?

[vytal]

[ ah...she lets out a dry laugh, at that. ]

She's a lot tougher than I am. She's amazing.

[ she pauses for a second, and then she looks up at him. her expression is tired, but she offers him a small smile. ]

I guess that's enough moping around for today. Sorry you had to see me like this.

[fiddlestick]

[It's cute to hear Yang singe praise about her friend. He really does hope for Yang's sake, she's safe and sound.]

Aw, there's nothing to be sorry about. I'd be the same way if someone I knew disappeared.

[vytal]

Oh! That's a lot closer than I thought we'd be.

[ yang's lucky she ran into monika...! she opts to push her bike along, not wanting to make a beeline there and leave monika in the dust. ]

Lead the way and I'll follow?

[vytal]

Thanks.

[ she means it. yang's taking a liking to elliot -- she's glad they met. ]

So... [ she shifts around a little, then: ] Up for grabbing food again? I haven't eaten all day, and I'm pretty sure my stomach's mad at me now.

[fiddlestick]

Uh oh, that's not good. Sure, let's go!

[He's not especially hungry, but he wants to make sure Yang eats something]

I'll buy, okay?

[plasticasshole]

It's mostly bark.

[Mostly. Maybe a little bit of incinerating would have happened.]

Keeping it isolated seems to help, but then it seems to get lonely. It wants company, just not the company of the other dragonflies.

[Maybe he should just adopt it himself... not that Hank would be happy.]

Whoa whoa whoa, no way! I'm the one treating you after you listened to me mope for ten years!

[vytal]

So...you really think adopting it would help, huh?

[ she considers this for a second. ]

...Would you do it?

[fiddlestick]

Haha, that's overstating it. It wasn't even ten minutes.

[Monika starts her walk, it's a leisurely pace for the most part.]

So how have you been so far?

I would, yes. If nobody else wanted to, that is.
