Lu Li | OC | Arachne

I | A RUDE AWAKENING
[Lu Li remembers falling.

In the blink of an eye, she finds herself crashing headfirst into dining table, sending glasses and chips flying everywhere. There's gasps, shrieks. She lies there, disoriented and confused. Something is wrong with her sensors -- she can't process what the people around her are saying or catch a signal to pinpoint where on Earth she's found herself. But she knows one thing: it's never safe for a rogue robot to remain in one place.

Which is how, in the middle of the night, a nearly seven foot tall figure draped tightly in a raincoat runs through the streets. Lu Li needs to find somewhere to hide, to regain her bearings. But nothing looks right. It all looks so archaic, so wrong.

She can be found squeezed into an alleyway, clutching her head. Any sign of movement will cause her to jerk her head towards you, revealing her inhuman features.]

Don't come any closer.

[Her voice is a high-pitched buzz, with no cadence, produced from a synthesizer not designed to imitate human voices but to blare warning signals.]

I'm armed.

II | TO MARKET WE GO
[It's all so much to take in. A new world, magic. Monsters and Witches. Lu Li still doesn't truly understand. What she knows is this: her body will change. This world isn't Earth. She's here because of a freak magical accident nobody can really explain. The rest is nervous noise in her head, difficult to disentangle.

She doesn't believe people won't be scared of her, or that they've seen stranger things. It's hard to shake off months of trained caution when survival depended on blending in, on pretending to be a mindless drone. The Coven seemed kind enough to provide resources, which is how she manages to secure a mask. It doesn't look much better than her true form, but it's better than walking around with a hunk of metal for a face.

She needs a few more things. Some gloves, some boots. All to disguise her robotic -- and eventually, monstrous -- extremities. But Lu Li is still new to the city and she winds up in the seedy guts of the Goblin Market. And, to her misfortune, a shady merchant has fixed their eye on this awkward, tall newcomer who seems lost among all the hustle and bustle.]

You say it prevents you from transforming permanently?

[The merchant nods. Lu Li hesitates far too long, betraying her interest.]

III | WILD SIDE
[The full moon draws close. And for the first time in months, Lu Li can feel again.

What was metal is now skin and flesh -- or at least, something akin to it. Her skin remains hard, still shines in the moonlight, but when she holds her arms up, she can feel the cool night breeze skimming over it. It awes her. Makes her want to cry.

Unfortunately, her emotional state makes it easy for the arachne in her to take over.

Lu Li was planning to head to the Coven to ask some questions about the Hunt. But on her way there, she wonders if it'd hurt to test her new limbs. She climbs, and the higher she climbs, the more delight she feels as all the sensations rushing back to her.

Which is how she's woven a web between two parapets and has nestled herself snugly in its center, her now four eyes scanning below her. Lu Li stops, her gaze fixed on a passerby. Her many fingers drum together.

Uh-oh.]
