Steven's never actually seen someone just casually wielding a handgun before. It kind of reminds him of some kind of action hero, like from those movies he kind of watched with Sadie but mostly just avoided looking at. It's scary, but Lex manages to make him feel safer regardless. The gentleness she showed just then despite it all has him starry-eyed.
