Who: Kurumi Ebisuzawa
When: Aereuer 13th
Where: Looking-Glass House
What: Memshare
Warnings: Zombies, blood, trauma, sports festival
[Kurumi's mirror looks pretty plain and assuming for someone who normally brings a positive air around, but anyone who's talked to her will notice that the upper half has a carving of a shovel and the bottom half of the border are wrapped around with bloody red vines.]
i - Outbreak
[This dream begins on top of a rooftop, the sky bleeds orange-red as the sun starts to sets. Though rather than it being a peaceful evening, it's anything but. The sound of absolute chaos can be heard all over, people screaming, running for dear life.
Two girls can be seen trying their hardest to keep the door shut and prevent the threats from bursting through. There's also a young woman, older than the girls but instead of helping bar the door with the girl notices a far pressing concern.
Before Kurumi stands a handsome young boy, her crush, reaching a hand out towards Kurumi as if to comfort her. Protect her. Or rather, that's what her vision was seeing until reality breaks in.
"Kurumi!" "Ebisuwa-san!" "Look carefully, Kurumi!"
The image of the young boy transforms into something far hideous. A shadowy figure hiding his deteriorating flesh, wobbling, the sound of cracking can be heard as an arm reaches towards Kurumi.
"Rii-san, what're you talking 'bout? He is-" Kurumi tried to protest, that there's nothing wrong about her senpai, only to then get cut off by him lunging at her.]
... This again. [Kurumi- the real one, pale and eyes red -has grown used to this recurring nightmare, hence her rather stoic expression. Of course, on the inside, it's a nightmare she's still terrified of.]
ii - Zombie Megumi and Zombification
[Kurumi is clutching her chest, hyperventilating, back leaning against a pillar in what seems to be in a dark basement. She's not alone, though, as there is evidence of sound behind her. Someone, or something, dragging their feet slowly through the shallow water.
"Damn it! Why--"
Frustrated, Kurumi shakily grips her shovel in an attempt to steel herself and dares to peek over the pillar. There, it's Megu-nee, once their beloved teacher, now is a shambling zombie. She can't believe this, it was the one thing she fears the most; having to one day kill someone she cares about.
"Why-- Why the hell?!"
She charges towards her zombified teacher, shovel raised and ready to put an end to this misery, but instead freezes on the spot. Because what she sees in front of her... is an image of a kind young woman, smiling warmly.
And then, the next thing the scene blacks out, accompanied with a loud crunch. The scene then opens back to Kurumi, after managing to get away from Megu-nee, she's trudging in a hallway to get back to the club. Her right shoulder bitten and bloodied. She messed up.
Kurumi doesn't turn away from the mirror; whether she's aware of the other's presence next to her or not, she can't move her eyes away from it, wide with fear. Absentmindedly, she's clutching her right arm, hands gripping around where it was bitten. There's more to show, and none of it will be pretty.]
iii - Happy Memory
[The state of the classroom is a mess and worn out, but the girls try their best to make the most of their current predicament, by doing club activities and to introduce their newest temporary member, Miki, on how the club works.
One of two activities they've done in their sport festival are:
A race. with Kurumi winning at the end, even with the handicap of carrying a heavy shovel.
Or the great ball-throwing contest with Miki winning.
The real Kurumi smiles as she watches the dream plays out, though there's also the pang of sadness of not being with them.]

II
[Jill reaches out to grab her shoulder.]
I know this is kind of stupid to ask at this point but...
Are you okay?
[God, and she thought she'd had it rough. Her own problems back on Glitch City seemed so insignificant compared to all of this.]
oops I had II on here but had to reload
Leslie has known some terrible people who were nonetheless beautiful, but she always thought that she could read their evil intents from their expression. This person, who it sounds like still attacked Kurumi, looks like someone Leslie would trust with her life. (She doesn't consider the possibility of Kurumi seeing something that isn't there.)
But more important than any worries Leslie might have about her (over)confidence in her ability to tell good and bad people apart is the way Kurumi -- the real, non-memory one -- looks right now. She starts by making a noise in hopes that it catches Kurumi's attention without startling her.]
Um.
[Leslie reaches up to put her hand over where Kurumi is clutching her arm to catch her attention, a concerned look on her face.]
You don't have to watch if it's hard. I can tell you when it's over.

Do I look- [She nearly snapped at Jill, catching her tone on her own before. ] I'm not okay...
[The memory continues, regardless, the dream world shifts around and the scene changes. The memory Kurumi is being tended by another girl, her clubmate, Yuuri, and her hand and leg are cuffed to the sofa for their safety, looking worse for wear by the seconds. And as it goes on, her changes worsen. She's thrashing about, growling, almost sounding inhuman... Yuuri has a knife in her hand, but she can't really fault her anxiety there.
At least they got through this in the end without anyone dead. This memory doesn't get much of a strong reaction from Kurumi, aside from her tightening her fist, an unconscious twitch. However, this experience is why she doesn't like her monster changes at all....]
We should leave... The mirror's being weird.

Leslie?! Y-you can't watch-- We gotta go!
[Though the panic-induced Kurumi protests, the dream world continues regardless and shifts to another terrible scene. Kurumi is now confined to a couch, wheezing, looking worse than before, an arm and leg cuffed to the couch's legs, though Leslie might not realize it was for the safety of the other girls. It is subtle, but the arm where she was bitten is showing signs of changing, veiny skin and losing color, almost turning pale, not unlike a vampire monster. She's being tended by someone Leslie might recognize, Yuuri.
As the memory goes on, so is the state Kurumi is in worsening, thrashing around wildly with an almost inhuman growl. Rii-san isn't dealing with it any better herself.
It is not a pretty memory.]

[She tries to avoid watching Kurumi's memories since Kurumi doesn't seem to want her to see them. She does glance over at it when she sees someone familiar reflected in the memory, but as she sees Kurumi's state and the way she's been forcibly restrained, she realizes she doesn't want to see them, either. But she's looking at Kurumi, which means the movement is happening in the corners of her vision.
When she sees the knife out of the corner of her eye, though, she both looks over and takes a step back, shocked to see Rii-san lifting such a thing against a friend, and now she gets a much better view of the far worse condition of Kurumi in the memory, which certainly doesn't help her fear, even at a memory that can't touch her.]

It's, uh, not good.
At all.
Obviously there was way more to the story, her. But she wasn't about to start prying when she was already seeing more than she should've.]
Yeah, sure.
By the way. If you wanna talk about anything at all, I'm up for it.
no subject
Jill, at least, was trying to help her, but now probably's not a good time to pry that recent memory, and she's thankful that she doesn't start questioning what's going on.]
Yeah... Talking is fine.
[A good distraction.]
Let's go somewhere else first... Who knows what else the mirror will show. [Good or bad memories, she doesn't want to stick around any longer to find out.]
no subject
If they stick around longer, Leslie might find that there's a happy ending to this horrible memory. But alas, Kurumi's not in a good mental landscape thanks to reliving a recent pain and seeing her dead teacher again. On top of that, she doesn't want Leslie to see this, so Kurumi wastes no time and effortlessly lifts the small girl up between her arms, keeping her head down against her shoulder as she runs out of the room, phasing through the door as if it wasn't even there.
There's no doubt in her mind that Leslie is confused and scared, seeing Rii-san with a knife in hand and about to stab a friend. She wouldn't blame Rii-san at all for that, but missing a major context, it does look horrible. She'll have to explain everything to Leslie after this is over, even though it pains her since she tried to keep up the pretense that she had an ordinary life to Leslie and everyone else. That her world was normal.
The dream world around them starts to crumble, the frame of a mirror appears, Kurumi's mirror. They've returned to the Looking Glass House.]
I'm sorry. [It's the first thing that comes out of her mouth. She drops to her knees, hugging Leslie in a tight embrace, all the while holding back her tears.]
no subject
(Leslie feels a little bad for being the one who is being protected from a memory that is clearly devastating to Kurumi, because Leslie refuses to accept her child status.)
As they stop moving, Leslie takes a moment to look and see that they're no longer in that memory. Some of the tension flows out of her and she returns the hug, beginning to tear up a little.]
No, I...I shouldn't hve been there. I'm sorry.
[For a moment, she almost leaves it there, but after swallowing heavily, she adds:]
I won't tell anyone. And I can try to pretend that I never saw it, if you want.
[It'd be difficult to keep the sight to herself and never talk to anyone about it. Of Kurumi growling and struggling against her restraints while the really nice girl that Leslie met when she first arrived clearly considered using a knife on her. But she's done something like that before.]
