Warnings: None for now but will edit this if any warnings do come up.
[ lance's mirror has a round oval shape to it and its frames are a made out of ornate wood, painted navy blue. those who may not know him well -- or are only meeting him now -- will only be able to see the outer border and ridges. it seems like a surprisingly plain mirror for someone so vibrant, so loud and boisterous and seemingly sure of himself.
those who know him beyond that persona, however, will be able to see more. there are shells carved into the bottom inner border of all different types, namely sand dollars. the outer border also has little white specks on it, and the navy blue seems to turn into a galaxy-like gradient, blue at the top that fades to indigo in the middle, then purple at the bottom. the mirror overall looks a little weathered, but otherwise in relatively good condition.
maybe stepping into the looking glass will tell you why. ]
[ OOC: as a note, i am not taking anymore memory share threads with lance. i have a lot to write out as is, but i will be available for doing other threads in the near future! thank you for understanding! <3 ]

keith
"Go on," she says, "Try it! It's chocolate milk. You're gonna love it!"
little lance grins and looks at her hopefully. he looks back at the carton of chocolate milk with an excited expression on his face, then takes a giant sip.
...and then promptly spits that out. he coughs as the girl laughs boisterously, and lance grimaces, giving her a disgusted look. "Veronica, that was DIRT!"
"Yeah, I know," she replies, ruffling his hair. "But you're my baby brother, how could I resist?!"
lance snarls at her before he takes what's left in the carton and splashes it on her face. veronica recoils with a hey! before she wipes it off of her face with her hand. she narrows her eyes at him...and then lunges forward and starts tickling his sides.
the memory ends with lance laughing loudly, trying to pry a conniving veronica off of him. ]
Memory for Lance
Coran, looking about a decade younger was shadowing a young woman that resembled Allura so much that Lance wouldn't be blamed in confusing the two. And a child, only about ten years old by human standards, her hair was pulled back in a neat braid, her skirts bouncing with the excited ten-year-old energy as she jumped, grabbing at her mother's hand.
"Remember, Allura," The woman laughs, patting her daughter on the head before settling a calming hand on her shoulder, "Your father is with the other paladins today, so keep in mind what we talked about." Said seriously, but then she punctuates it with a fond boop on her daughter's nose.
Nearby, the real Allura stands next to Lance, her throat tight but she manages a sheepish smile at Lance watching her childish antics (child-her was currently rolling her eyes, and giving an exaggerated "I remember" like every other precocious pre-teen in existence). A moment later, her gaze moves beyond Lance, and the smile on current-Allura's face is almost identical to that of the child who was back to jumping up and down. Real-Allura tugs on Lance's sleeve, pointing to the sky beyond him, where a squad of very familiar lions were flying in.]

If anything, it kinda seems.... really mean spirited.
Instinctively, he tries to grab little Lance's shoulder to help him get free from Veronica, though his hand simply goes straight through as the two siblings continue their little tickle war.]
.... oh right.
[That's muttered more to himself as Keith stands back to watch with a raised eyebrow.]

it's really something special. he only wishes he could've seen it before everything happened.
he recognizes coran immediately, and he looks over at the young woman and her child. his first thought is allura had a kid?! but not long after that does he realize how ridiculous that sounds, and when the woman addresses her child, it drives the point home that allura's mom just happens to look a lot like her. baby allura is adorable, too.
he sees the present allura fall to his side, and he looks over at her and gives her a grin. the other paladins... ]
No way...
[ a beat as his eyes widen. ]
Am I about to see the O.G. paladins?!

Oh man, you got this memory?
[ he sounds pretty pleased about it at least. he doesn't even sound remotely worried about keith being here, watching this particular scene unfold. veronica and lance continue to tussle while lance lets out another laugh. ]
Yeah, that's my older sister, Veronica. She tricked me into thinking dirt was chocolate milk. It was pretty mean, but I got her back for it eventually.

Lance's excitement is infectious and she smiles - she doesn't know what an O.G. is but she understands the meaning nevertheless and nods. And sure enough, the colors in the sky swoop down with alarming speed, the lions looking the same as the ones they'd left behind, slowing and then settling down in front of the crowd, moving like they'd done this dozens of times before.
"Father!" The small Allura yells as soon as the Red Paladin dismounts, running and getting swooped up by a man several decades
hotteryounger than the one left behind on the AI of the ship. Melanor laughs and shakes her head but stays where she's standing, the picture perfect example of Altean restraint. And slowly the other paladins appear. Trigal and Gyrgan - the Green and Yellow paladins - followed by a blue alien of impressive stature and an easy smile. Blaytz waves to the crowd before clapping Alfor on the shoulder, chastising him for hesitating to go kiss his wife, It's been three phoebes, what are you waiting for?Alfor is sheepishly making his way over to Melanor for a very sweet family reunion when the Black Paladin appears and Allura can feel the smile drain from her own face.
It's Zarkon.]

everything feels so blissful, seeing the paladins so happy, and thne...
zarkon comes out, and the color drains from lance's face too. shiro was right. that armor zarkon's wearing -- there's no mistaking it.
lance narrows his eyes, moving a little closer to allura. it's a show of support. ]

Except she knew in this reality, the black paladin murders the rest of them. Every person in this memory, save for Coran and Allura herself, dead at Zarkon's hands.
She feels Lance at her side and it shakes her out of her reverie. Without thinking, she puts a hand on his arm, turning away from the memory.]
Zarkon wasn't always evil. He was my father's best friend. The hunger for power warped him into the person we know now.

[ except he doesn't have to imagine it; it's happening, right in front of him. it's jarring -- and like allura, lance, too, knows that zarkon is a murderer and all these people have died because of him. to be frank, lance doesn't really care that zarkon was a good person before -- not right now. all he can think about is all of the horrible things that have happened because of him.
how he and the other paladins got dragged into a war they never asked for because of one man's conquest for power. ]
Sorry. I hear what you're saying. I just... I don't really know if I can accept it.

[Allura’s voice is hard, and her eyes follow suit. She shakes her head.]
Zarkon doesn’t deserve any pity. He has had ten-thousand years to change for the better and has not.
[She can feel the steel in her voice, as she looks at the memory of the world around it. All gone because of Zarkon. There is no room in her heart for forgiveness for him.]
When we return home, we will put an end to him, and his reign of terror.
