[It's almost chilling to hear Papyrus say that about Frisk, Asgore, and any number of other monsters. The Puca's ears flatten, thinking about a world with Asgore killed (because, let's face it: "never showed up again" is a good reason to believe he'd been turned to dust) and Undyne on the throne.
It's no wonder that under such circumstances, the efforts toward a war were stronger. He only takes solace in knowing that monsters couldn't possibly reach humanity from behind the barrier, though the fate of a fallen human wouldn't be kind.
There are a lot of things Mettaton thinks he can piece together about this whole scenario. After all, the Underground is his home — and he knows the nature of monsters. For as willing as they were to embrace the human, any ill intent on Frisk's part would warrant a response out of them. Moreover, he knows Undyne via Alphys, and her zeal for human-killing prior to Frisk was impressive. No doubt she rallied up some kind of fervor, at least to keep hopes alive.
That leaves an important question for Mettaton.]
