It's come up before, the base theory of it. (And whatever Mettaton managed to retain from his friend's ramblings upon it, particularly in the vein of alternate universes. Which, admittedly, could be spotty: sometimes Mettaton just wasn't listening...) But he has to stare long and hard at Papyrus to confirm that somebody from his very own world was victim to this divergence, and that the war was a thing.
They hadn't gone to the Surface. The war was going strong.]
What... about Frisk? The human? Did they ever show up? Didn't they... Surely, they talked to Asgore, and the barrier was broken, somehow...
[Not that anybody really understood what happened, but Frisk was definitely a catalyst for the ordeal. Everyone else just came to - Papyrus included - while Frisk remained unconscious. Did they even arrive? Surely a human could change it all, if anyone.]
